Greens for teens was a social experiment we did here at school. The social experiment was to see if we could make a difference in how many students or teachers eat greens. We started off on Monday by going around asking kids to take a survey on whether they ate greens, if so, how they ate them, and what kind of greens they ate. When getting that survey back we saw that most kids here at Buford High School did not eat their greens and the ones that did ate them very salty. The following Tuesday we prepped for Wednesday which was Green’s day. We made informational cards for each lunch table as well as a table for salt, vinegar, and pepper. That following day we sat everything up on the tables for the kids in First as well as Second lunch. We calculated the difference in who ate greens before lunch and who ate them at school by the number of stickers we have out awarding these kids. Each lunch line had two of our FFA officers at them as the kids got their lunch. We had our stickers. We also directed them toward our table with salt, pepper, and vinegar. At the end of this experiment, it was a success over half the students who did not eat greens at school before did that day.
