Members of the BHS Student Council attended a Mock Council meeting on Tuesday. Students discussed solutions to current and future needs for Lancaster County. Students held their own county council meetings where citizens voiced opinions on various proposed projects. Students also proposed plans of actions for projects such as a new regional park and capital project sales tax while debating these against other area high schools. Buford won the councils’ vote for plans for the New Regional Park and was asked by current county council members for their plans to include in the actual new project. These ideas included food truck accessibility, biking trails, festival pavilion, and games for all ages. Two students from every high school sat on the council and voted on these proposed projects.
