Summer break is coming to a close. School is about to start. Classes, schedules, running into lockers and doors. Hiding in the bathrooms, ditching class. School field trips, clubs, parties, dances.
Stuff that pretty much no one looks forward to.
Hello Jackets! It’s me, Landon Bryson, writing to you just because I feel like it. I just wanna say that I’m really happy that I have people reading these blogs. It really means a lot to me, and it means that I’m at least doing something right.
I also want to give a shout-out to Mr. Matthew Collier and Richie Knight, not only for uploading these blog posts, but for taking the time to create and come up with all sorts of Stinger content. Way to show that Jacket Pride guys.
If you’ve read one of my earlier blogs, you know that I mentioned how I have a book goal. I started this goal in June, I think on the nineteenth. The goal was to read 100 books, and I had only read 3 so far.
I’ve decided to change it to 50 books. I mean, I started super late in the year, and I’m still recovering from the massive book slump I went through. It’s August 7, and right now I’m at 13 books. Wish me luck.
Everyone knows that school is starting on August 12th. (August 11th for the Freshmen). But some BHS clubs have already started planning ahead.
On August 9, The BHS Student Council will be holding an End of Summer Bash from 10 AM to 2 PM. At the Bash, there will be a car show, as well as food trucks, a vendor fair, and a kids zone. In order to be in the kids zone, you will have to buy a wristband, but relax, it’s only $5. This will give kids access to inflatables, and games that give them tickets. They can use these tickets to try and earn awesome prizes. And the best part of all this? The kids zone and the vendor fair are in the AC, so you don’t have to worry about stupid heat and overwhelming humidity.
The funds that we raise from this Bash will go to all sorts of Student Council events. Homecoming, prom, senior picnic, the Student Council field trip. All of these events are very important to a high school student’s life, even if they act like they don’t care. Show up for the Bash and support us, while also having fun!
There have been some changes to the school itself. Flex Time, lunch, classes. Things will be different this year. So returning high schoolers, be prepared to be flexible. Come into this school year with an optimistic attitude. A little positivity goes a long way. (I know that was cringy but I had to say it. Sorry guys).
Anyways, that’s it for this week. Students, remember to enjoy all the sleeping-in you can. You don’t have much longer. Until next time, it’s your favorite blind Jacket!
