Books and the Break

Books. I love books. I love classics, from Great Expectations to Of Mice and Men, and all the way back to To Kill a Mockingbird. I love dystopian, like Hunger Games, Divergent, Unwind. And dystopian fantasy is just as good.

But the book that’s one of the most important to me is my story. I mean, the Bible takes first place in my life, but other than that, when it comes to living, my life is like a story that I’m writing every single day. But while some people give up, sit at home, choose to be lazy, and wait for others to dictate their next chapter, I’m still writing.

Hello Jackets! Its me, Landon Bryson, writing to you about how crazy this year has been. One thing I can say for sure, I’m definitely interested in how 2025 will play out. I mean, we’ve already had some virtual learning days from school because of the snow! Take that global warming.

On February 20, the choir is hosting a concert. It’s a Cabaret. If you know what that is, then hopefully that means I spelled it correctly. Basically, it’s a concert where the choir will be singing different songs from musicals, movies, etc. It’s at the Buford Multipurpose Building, and if you wanna keep the choir spirit active, come support us by watching an amazing show. Tickets cost $5, and the show starts at 6 PM.

Many people I know are nervous. When we came back to school in early January, everyone was stressed about finding their classes, having good or bad teachers, and getting heavy loads of work. It was nice to not be the only one worried about running into a doorway!

When it comes to being anxious, I think I can speak for everyone and say we’ve all been there. But with most things, one thing you can try to remember is that you’ll get another chance. When we’re anxious, at least for me, the thought that I can’t do anything seems to run through my mind.

But sometimes, you can dive through headfirst and see where you go. I’m nervous about so many things in my life, thank you anxiety. But I know that some things have to be done, and I also know that if I want something done, I won’t care if I’m nervous.

I’m just saying, do not be ashamed or scared to admit that you’re nervous about something big or challenging in your life. Telling someone might be a step that you take towards overcoming that obstacle. Even with all the nervous experiences I’ve been through, what with being blind and what not, I’m still going. And that means you can too! Don’t be nervous about asking for help, or finding your way around all of the school’s buildings. Why are there four again? It’s a little crazy.

Anyways, that’s all for this week. Remember to check the many different Buford websites out there to stay up to date. I look forward to yapping to you guys again soon, and until then, it’s your favorite blind jacket!
