Cinema or Stream?

Cinema or Stream?

Cinema has been around since the Lumière brothers created a device that projected moving pictures making it the first projector and film printer combined into one. In December of 1895, the device first appeared in the city of love, Paris, France.

The year of 2020s epidemic that shook everyone’s boots collectively, highlighting the age of streaming services in the safety and comfort of the individual homes away from the crowded public areas as lockdown took hold of the world, including the all-to-loved cinema. Once the lockdown was mainly lifted, the cinema faced a hit to its once-loved fan base as people found more solace in the solitude of watching movies in their own homes using streaming services in place of the grimy, loud whispering environment that the cinema of today’s age brings.

To not most surprise, the cinema has had a reputation for being a germ-infested playground for many years. With the global epidemic, many have started to avoid unkept and/or unclean public entertainment spots, such as the cinema. The idea of stale popcorn in your awaiting seat to watch an almost 2-hour movie that is no longer appealing to the masses of people worried about the potential of going out for some fun watching a movie, only to leave with a biological weapon to spread to their awaiting family at home. Commenting on the cleanliness of cinemas, the website Variety Magazine states that the leading theater industry trade group said in 2021 that locations no longer have to disinfect after every screening.

When going to a cinema in person, your options for movies will most likely be limited to movies that were made in your country. However, whenever you choose a streaming service you may have a few more options outside of your country. One can install a VPN on your choice of device and explore your newly found shows and movies. If you live in America, the website called FSM Media recommends you use a Taiwan VPN to hide your location from potential digital threats and enjoy the movies and TV shows exposed to you.

Another drawback about going to the cinema is the cost of each ticket. Depending on the size of the party, wanting to go see a movie can raise the already pretty high prices. According to FrugalAnswers, the average price for a movie ticket in America can be anywhere from $10 to $15 per person. That’s not even counting if you want popcorn, candy, or a drink to fully indulge in the picture-moving activity. With streaming services, you can find free movies to watch repeatedly whenever you want in your own home. You can also get the same snacks that the cinema would offer you but at a cheaper price than you would get if you’d get at the cinema.

While many may argue that to enjoy a movie with a group of people you must be in a cinema to get the full experience. However; that can be argued that it would be difficult to focus on a movie with loved ones when the cinema can easily become a loud, less than comfortable environment to try and enjoy with friends and family. If you wish to sit back and enjoy a captivating movie with loved ones, the best way to do so would be in the comfort of your own home. That way it is easier to engulf yourself in the fantasy world the movie universe has to offer.

Sit in the middle of your personal bedroom, living room, or whatever has a screen of your choice with as many people as you wish in the knowing comfort that you can find any movie in the world at your fingertips.
