Stress, School, and the Blessing of a Break

Life is so busy. I mean, I can’t speak for any adult, but I do personally think I’m on the busier end of the teenage spectrum. There are bake sales and performances, speeches to write and rehearse, assignments to complete. Helping teachers, other club competitions, church events and other church performances. Music lessons, new songs and skills to learn, all that fun stuff. That’s why I’m so excited for next week, when I can take a while to relax and eat as much as possible.

Hello Jackets! It’s me, Landon Bryson, writing to you after what feels like forever. I feel like I haven’t written a blog in two months. So that’s why I’m here, writing before this fabulous break. I’m so excited I can’t wait. The art of sleeping in is calling my name.

If anyone knows what Wicked the Musical is, then you should know that the second part of Wicked, Wicked For Good, just came out today. It is an AMAZING story, and the singers are just incredible. I strongly suggest going to watch it if you haven’t already.

The cool thing about the break next week is that it’s the first time, at least that I can remember, that we get a full week, instead of just three days. I’m cherishing every day I can. I expect you all to do the same.

I wanted to just remind everyone of something I was thinking about a few days ago. Everyone’s probably super stressed, which is why this break is going to be a miracle. I was just thinking, sometimes you really don’t know what’s going on in a person’s life. You know the mask they present, but you don’t know if they’re struggling or if they’re going through something personal.

I guess what I’m trying to say is, be a little more thankful and considerate. I spend a lot of time focusing on the negatives, and a few days ago, I stopped in the middle of an assignment. After a long, frustrating day, I just wanted to go to sleep. I was mad at a lot of different things, and then I just put my computer down and thought, I have to be better.

I’m extremely lucky to have good parents, people who aren’t total jerks to me all the time. I’m thankful that I have Matthew Collier publishing these blogs for me and doing podcast episodes– go check out the new one that just dropped today. I’m thankful that I have food, I’m thankful that I can work on the faith I have and grow stronger in that. I’m happy I can sing, play music, and survive in school. We take a lot of things for granted and I want to work on not doing that as much.

Well anyways, that’s all for this week. I hope you guys have an amazing Thanksgiving, another thing that some people don’t have. Enjoy all the food, I know I will. Until next time, it’s your favorite blind Jacket!
