From Finals to Family Vacations

Well, school’s almost over, and I can’t say that I’m sad. I honestly never thought this day would come. But the tragic, sort of depressing part of me is just thinking, what’s the point in being happy when we, or at least myself and a few others, have to come back in a few months?

Hello Jackets! It’s me, Landon Bryson, writing to you with the thought that maybe summer won’t be summer for me this year. Here’s a quick list of what I’m doing:

I have a one week-long camp in June, starting on the 8th. I get back on the 12th, and leave for the National Beta Convention trip in Nashville Tennessee on June 16th. I get back the 20th, and leave the 22nd for another week long camp. I get back the 26th, and leave the 27th for a family vacation, getting back on July 2nd. I believe I also start a college class somewhere during June, but we don’t care as much about that part.

I have started doing dual enrollment classes through USCL. My English 101 class is almost over, and again, I’m not mourning it. The work itself isn’t hard, but the pacing is crazy. Oh well, what can you do?

Remember that goal I had to read fifty books this year? Well I’m only at eleven. I’m hoping summer gives me more time to read, and I also think part of the problem is that I’m trying to tackle insanely long books, which is taking up a lot of time. Either way, if I don’t meet this goal, you better believe I’m gonna be ticked about it.

To all the seniors that are graduating this year, I’m so excited for you. Many of you have been in Buford your whole life, or relatively nearby. But even if you haven’t, even if you moved here from New York or Canada or something, I still want you to know that there is a whole world out there. This is just one chapter you’re in, one bubble of ideas and people that you’re surrounded by, and there’s so much more to see.

I hope that you’re open to trying new things, experiencing new relationships. But most of all, I hope you don’t give up, when you fail at something or make a friend upset. In my opinion, all of those hardships are just the mistakes that you have to make to get to the best part of your life.

Well, that’s all for this week, but don’t worry. There’s no way you can get rid of me. I will be writing blog posts over the summer, and posting on TikTok and Instagram as well, videos and photos to make everyone happy. So if you want to stay up to date with what I’m doing, follow me on those platforms, and continue reading these blog posts that Mr. Collier and Mr. Richie publish. I am so grateful that they grant me the opportunity to write these. Anyways, until next time, it’s your favorite blind Jacket.
